Le Majestic
Opened in 1926, Le Majestic is another palatial property with a storied past. Situated on La Croisette and opposite the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, the main event venue for the Cannes Film Festival, the hotel has hosted a slew of Hollywood stars over the years. Its 257 rooms and 92 suites include abodes named after French couturier Christian Dior and actress Michèle Morgan. Its hallways are lined with 2,500 photos of celebrities, and it’s home to Le Fouquet’s Cannes, Le BFire by Mauro Colagreco and Paradiso, all A-list hangouts. Stars who are known to have stayed include Paul Newman, Sharon Stone, Al Pacino, Jeff Goldblum and Morgan Freeman. During the Cannes Film Festival, the hotel goes through two tonnes of lobster, three tonnes of fish, 50kg of caviar and 18,500 bottles of wine and champagne.
Zuma, Cannes
The views from Zuma Cannes are undeniably some of the best in town. Set atop the legendary Palm Beach and overlooking the marina, the restaurant is fully booked every night with reservations of the VIP kind. Its exclusive location, tucked away at the end of La Croisette and in the same building as La Petite Maison, Medusa and Nammos, means it’s crawling with recognisable faces during the film festival and beyond.
