Cardi B and Nicki Minaj have been pitted against each other for years — and they’re throwing shade at each other again.
Yesterday, the two got into it on X as Minaj attempted to take a swipe at Cardi B by mocking her streaming album’s performance (it went double platinum and hit No.1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart), her rap flow, and even her children.
The exchange started with a post from Minaj — shared a few days after Cardi released her second album, Am I The Drama? — that teased the date March 27, 2026, assumedly the release date for Minaj’s next album. Many found this move incredibly odd, but moved on.
Except, it didn’t end there.
The Queens rapper began sharing a series of even more X posts, uploading post after post (which have since been deleted) that were directed towards Cardi B.
In one post, Minaj simply wrote “4.99,” the promotional price for Cardi’s new song on iTunes. She then went on to write, “Barney Dangerous,” a reference to Cardi being pregnant, and also wrote, ““Abcdefgeeeeeeee, Fallin off the charts wit a big bellyyyy, RUNNING TRAINS, Barefoot, still smellyyyyy, Still. You. Could. Not. outsell. meeeeee.”
Minaj also wrote, “SUR GER REE TO LOOK LIKE MEEEEEE / tell the rat & tell J ZEEEEEE / Rico Fraud & PERJURY.” Minaj’s tweets are also a jab at Cardi’s song “Magnets,” where she raps, “A-B-C-D-E-F-G / These bitches can’t fuck with me.”
Minaj and Cardi B have been pitted against each other for many years as two female rappers from New York City. Ever since Cardi B started gaining prominence in the music industry, Minaj seemed to have her sights set on the Bronx native. Despite attempts at collaborating together, the tension between them culminated in an infamous exchange in 2018 at the Harper’s Bazaar Icons party, where theyreportedly got into a physical altercation.
These X posts (otherwise referred to as tweets) caught Cardi’s attention, who engaged in the social media spat with a post that read, “Naaaa cuz I was really baking ribs and making blondie brownies and here come this bitch bothering me on a Monday.”
Cardi B then took a jab at Minaj and wrote, “A B C D E F G / Yor man have to snatch PUSSY / Pussy taste like honey comb / Your bro be touching 12 year olds,” her post read. “Damn she was streaming ‘Magnet’ hard as hell huh??” she said in another X post.
The expectant mother of three then addressed Minaj directly and shut down her attempts at trying to tear down her album’s performance. “Why you keep bringing up my album?? It’s not the gag that you think it is.. You been in the game like 16 years.. You need to compare yourself to YOUR peers that started around YOUR time.”
She continued, “Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Drake… Those are the numbers you need to be competing wit and you can’t cuz you doing lower than all of them… I was in high school when you came out wtf is you comparing yourself to me for???”
The Bronx rapper ended her exchange with Minaj, going just as low as her after the Queens rapper talked about her pregnancy. “Like you wasn’t going to different fertility doctors cuz you couldn’t reproduce from all them percs scrambling your eggs. NOT ALLEGEDLY …Lord protect my babies.”
The spat ended with Minaj sharing AI-generated photos of Jay-Z in a pink wig crying and holding money alongside a photo of Cardi B as Barney.
