After years of ramping up anticipation, Billboard cover star Cardi B is in full promo mode getting out the word about her long-awaited sophomore album, Am I the Drama?, which is due out on Friday (Sept. 19) The get-out-the-clicks campaign has included Cardi setting up shop on a busy NYC sidewalk last week and selling her wares grassroots style.
She was back at it over the weekend in an Instagram Live in which she was encouraging her fans to go out and buy a copy the album later this week. But, before she could even get her pitch started, the rapper’s eldest child with former husband Offset, eight-year-old Kulture, interrupted with her own sales strategy.

“Oh, don’t get her album,” Kulture said to Cardi’s surprise in the video (which you can watch here.)
Not super psyched to be negged by her own flesh and blood, Cardi hit Kulture with a harsh warning, asking her, “What you mean don’t get my album, girl? Then you ain’t gonna be able to buy s–t. We’re gonna live in the hood.” Playfully enraged, Cardi continued, “ain’t no more toys for y’all. No nice car, no nothing. No more Roblox coin, no more Apple, no more Target.”
She then asked Kulture to name a few of of her favorite things, warning, “you gonna be eating rice and beans every G–damn… yeah, no crab… I think I ate crab in my childhood like three times.”
Last month, the rapper jokingly claimed that if fans didn’t come out and buy Drama she might be out on the street. “I’m about to get evicted from my mansion,” she said at the time, according to Complex. “They’re about to repo all my cars. They’re about to take my Lambos and my Rolls-Royce. I couldn’t even get my pool cleaned this week, you know what I’m saying? I’m f–ked up in the game right now. Please donate to my album because it’s going to come out on Sept. 19 and it’s all I got. I just want to say thank you guys so much, because it’s been very hard for me.”
The good news in the weekend IG chat was word from Cardi that she’s going to reveal something new about the album every day until its release later this week. The rapper’s long-awaited follow-up to her 2018 debut full-length LP, Invasion of Privacy will feature 23 songs, including her Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hits 2020’s “WAP” and 2021’s “Up.” In advance of the release so far she’s released the single’s “Outside” in June and “Imaginary Playerz” last month, both of which are slated to appear on the album as well.
