Lee Quick and Marc Thompson are voice actors who have worked within the franchise for years, with Quick best known for voicing Officer Jenny and Thompson voicing a variety of Pokémon. Thompson talked about getting into the industry and their experiences.

“I typically will remind people to focus on the acting part of voice acting,” Thompson said. “Doing the voices is important, it’s a big part of it, but if you can’t interpret the scripts and bring humor and life to your characters and heart to the lines, then it just becomes flat after a while. Taking acting and improv classes, auditioning for school plays, things like that will really help you.”

Quick said that being in a franchise that has made such an impact on multiple generations makes her feel very proud.

“It was a big shock because we didn’t know it was going to be so big when we were doing it,” Quick said. “It’s a great honor. I have met so many great people and it has been really fun to be a part of. I am very grateful.”

Quick also elaborated on her experiences in the industry and her dad as an inspiration for her work.

“My father was in radio and something he told me to do was read out loud every day,” Quick said. “And into Marc’s point, definitely acting. You’re not just reading something, you’re doing something, you’re explaining, you’re a character. Read out loud every day and act as much as you can.”

Thompson was thankful for the people of the Concho Valley showing appreciation while visiting the store.

“To everyone who has come out to the store, we really appreciate it,” Thompson said. “We have had a lot of fun and everyone has been so kind.”

If anyone in the Concho Valley wants to catch Quick and Thompson, they can visit DreamShark Toys and Games on September 14 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
