Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones is opening up about the four homes she shares with husband Michael Douglas and why she doesn’t view them as excessive.
“I know it sounds very jet set, and I love to surround myself with beauty, but it’s not excessive, it’s very comfortable,” Zeta-Jones said to The Sunday Times.
The 55-year-old star revealed that she and Douglas, 80, own four properties together, including one in Canada, one in Spain, and two in New York.
Among their homes, the couple’s Spanish property, a sprawling Mallorca estate called S’Estaca, has been one of their most high-profile properties.
Douglas purchased it with Luker in 1990 for $3.5 million. When they divorced in 2000, the former couple shared the house under an arrangement Douglas later described as difficult. “It was very uncomfortable to share the house of S’Estaca with my ex-wife, Diandra. Six months each was not a pleasant thing for anyone,” he told local outlet Ultima Hora in 2021.
After years of co-ownership, Douglas and Zeta-Jones now fully own the home, which was briefly put on the market in 2019 but never sold. “Now that everything is arranged and that the house is one hundred percent ours, Catherine’s and mine, I can say that I never wanted to leave,” Douglas said at the time.
He added: “My children will continue to come, and my grandchildren and their children. I am sure that for generations this island will be theirs. This house belongs to my family, and it will continue to be. Cameron, Dyla,n and Carys love it. My daughter speaks Spanish perfectly.” Douglas also joked: “Happy wife, happy life.”
“My ex-wife Diandra is no longer an owner, a partner with us, so we have the house together, and Catherine’s very happy here,” he said, calling Mallorca “magical.” “I couldn’t think of anywhere else, anywhere in the Mediterranean, where I can see such a coastline,” he added.

Zeta-Jones also highlighted her modest upbringing in Mumbles, a seaside town in Swansea, Wales. Her mother, Patricia, worked as a seamstress, while her father, David, worked in a candy factory.
According to The Sunday Times, her father later bought the factory after winning over $135,000 in a game of bingo, which also helped pay for Zeta-Jones’ dance lessons.
“It feels like a very precocious thing, and I don’t know where it comes from, but I’d say it out loud, ‘I want to be on the stage.’ I was a bit of a prodigy,” she said.
Zeta-Jones and Douglas married on November 18, 2000, after getting engaged the year before.
Together they raised two children, Dylan, 25, and Carys, 22. Douglas also has a son, Cameron, 46, from his first marriage to Diandra Luker.
