CBS and Sony Pictures Television had a come-to-Jesus moment and ended their court fight over the syndicated distribution of both Jeopardy!! and Wheel of Fortune. Variety reports CBS Media Ventures will continue as the domestic syndicator for the shows, exclusively through the 2027-2028 television season. Sony will take on domestic and international distribution of the legendary game shows starting December 1.

The affiliate relations, marketing, and promotion for the shows will remain under CBS’ purview through the current 2025-2026 television season and will then transfer to Sony. CBS will play a bigger role in ad sales through 2029-2030. Both CBS Media Ventures and Sony Pictures Television said in a joint statement:

Earlier this year, CBS was accused by SPT of licensing the shows at below-market rates and failing to magnify advertising revenue for the shows. Sony fired back and claimed CBS created huge layoffs crippling the teams responsible for distribution, marketing, and advertising of Jeopardy! and WoF.
