PICTURE PERFECT: Holding the Celine show on the gated grounds of a national monument didn’t keep the fans away from Michael Rider’s summer show. They lined the roads and parking area for a glimpse of house ambassador Kim Taehyung, aka V of BTS.
Despite weekend storms and some early-morning rain, the weather gods were smiling on Celine with blue skies and sun in the garden of the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud on the outskirts of Paris.
“Nice weather, nice feeling, nice view,” the K-pop star told WWD, giving a thumbs up as he found his seat. He chatted with brand chief executive officer Séverine Merle about the music played at the previous night’s welcoming party. Kim’s only complaint? “It wasn’t loud enough.”
The singer was suited up in a chestnut colored blazer and leopard print neck tie, a cozy autumn color and more formal look than past shows.
Uma Thurman was introduced to the BTS star, and the two took photos together.
“That’s like a lifetime photo,” she said after the shot. “I’m a fan but I’ve never seen them in concert.”
She was accompanied by son Levon Hawke. The two have been spending a few days in Paris eating and enjoying the sights. “We just take giant walks — eat and walk around. It’s fun to get to have a trip together,” he said of spending some quality family time.
The 23-year-old is following in the footsteps of his Oscar-nominee mom Thurman and dad Ethan Hawke onto the screen. Next up is a movie called “Thumb,” which starts shooting in two weeks. It costars “House of the Dragon” actress Milly Alcock, and follows the story of a severed thumb that ends up in her mail.
It’s “dark comedy” is about all Hawke would reveal about the storyline.
The K-pop contingent was strong in the front row, as six-member group TWS hit the front row too, posing for fun photos with record company cohort Kim and videos of their favorite front row looks, while Meovv member Narin sat on the other side of the runway.
