Mason Haynes, a veteran celebrity bodyguard who worked around the Kardashians, Lewis Hamilton and other major entertainment figures, has died at 52.
Haynes died following a motorcycle crash, according to a new Daily Mail report. The outlet did not link to a police statement naming Haynes or providing the full official circumstances of the collision.
Haynes later used his security experience to establish Bodyguards Against Bullying, an international personal-safety initiative created to oppose bullying, abuse, harassment and persecution.
Haynes Spent More Than Two Decades in Celebrity Security
Haynes said he entered the industry through pub and club security before moving into personal protection. A Silver Swan Recruitment interview described him as a 22-year security veteran whose work had taken him to 115 countries, including 22 across Africa.
A later podcast appearance identified the Kardashians, Kanye West, Kevin Hart, Charlie Puth and Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton among the high-profile people Haynes had protected during his career.
His connection to the Kardashian family was publicly reported years earlier. In 2016, The Sun reported that producers of The Only Way Is Essex had hired Kim Kardashian’s former bodyguard to increase security around cast members following several violent incidents.
Haynes also discussed the less visible parts of celebrity protection, including travel, advance planning, crowd management and the need for bodyguards to blend into a client’s environment rather than attract additional attention.
He Created Bodyguards Against Bullying
Haynes founded Bodyguards Against Bullying as a global personal-safety and anti-bullying organization.
Celebrity bodyguard Adriano “Bubba” Almony, who served as the initiative’s U.S. chairman, repeatedly credited Haynes with creating the organization. A 2020 Los Angeles Tribune profile described its members as security professionals united around protecting people who were being intimidated or targeted.
The campaign attracted ambassadors from outside the traditional security industry and used social media to circulate personal-safety information, anti-bullying messages and support for victims.
Motorcycles Were Another Major Part of His Life
Outside personal security, Haynes was involved in custom motorcycle design and manufacturing. He was identified as a founding partner and managing director of Public Enemy Customs, a company established in 2016 to build highly modified motorcycles.
Photographs and company material showed Haynes working around custom Harley-Davidson projects and other one-off builds.
Hampshire Police separately appealed for witnesses after a fatal four-vehicle collision on the A287 Farnham Road near Crondall on Saturday, July 4. Police said the crash involved two Harley-Davidson motorcycles, a BMW X3 and an LDV Maxus motorhome, and that one motorcyclist, a man in his 50s from Thames Ditton, Surrey, died at the scene.
Haynes’ extended interviews about celebrity security remain available through Silver Swan Recruitment and the Hustle Like U Broke podcast, where he discussed the international career that began in local venue security.
