Channel 4 has confirmed a new cast of famous faces joining Celebrity Gogglebox later this week, as the series returns for a milestone 50th episode.
Now in its eighth season, Celebrity Gogglebox features a rolling cast of famous faces as they sit back and watch the week’s big shows, sharing their occasionally insightful but frequently hilarious points of view.
Kicking off on Friday 5 June, some of the new famous faces joining the Gogglebox family include British TV royalty in Julian Clary and Nigel Havers, as well as Strictly Come Dancing contestants George Clarke and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, aka Nitro from Gladiators.
Clarke will be joined by his Useless Hotline podcast co-host Max Balegde, while Matt Morsia – Legend from Gladiators – will be alongside Aikines-Aryeetey.
TV personality Olivia Attwood and her mum Jennifer will also be taking to the sofa to react to the great and the good of the small screen.

Ahead of the new episodes, Clary – also a former Strictly contestant – said: “Doing Celebrity Gogglebox was an absolute treat, a perfectly civilised way to spend an evening.
“I do like to think my commentary brought a certain level of refinement to proceedings, and Nigel managed to stay awake, although there is an unsightly stain on my sofa.”
Former Coronation Street actor Havers commented: “It’s a dream come true working with Julian on Gogglebox. I can’t think of a better way to spend an evening… (Julian wrote this).”
Elsewhere, Clarke said: “I loved it, mainly because it gave me a full excuse to take the mick out of Max on national TV. He reacts to everything, so you’re never bored. It’s so easy to get into as well, you just sit there, say exactly what you’re thinking, and before you know it, we’ve gone completely off track!”
And Aikines-Aryeetey added: “Filming Celebrity Gogglebox was pure fun from start to finish, just a proper night-in full of laughs, brilliant TV, and plenty of unexpected moments. It was a really enjoyable experience and great fun to be part of.”

There will be even more new famous faces confirmed as the series airs, as well as some returning stars.
These include Vernon Kay and Paddy McGuinness, Bez and Shaun Ryder, Roman and Martin Kemp, Ashley Banjo and Perri Kiely, Nick Grimshaw and niece Liv, the Mangans, Rylan and mum Linda, Mo Gilligan and Babatunde Aléshé, Denise Van Outen and Johnny Vaughan, and Vicky Pattison and Pete Wicks.
Celebrity Gogglebox returns on Friday 5 June at 9pm on Channel 4.
