A chamber music company recently announced one of Creative Scotland’s multi-year funding recipients has named its new chief executive, to begin next month.
HOLLY CUMMING-WESLEY joins Hebrides Ensemble after previous roles at BBC Proms, the Royal Academy of Arts, and most recently as a producer at the Royal Northern Sinfonia.
Cumming-Wesley said she was excited to join the company at a “time of real momentum and focus”.
“I’m excited to support the ensemble as it builds on its artistic strengths, deepens its relationships with audiences and partners, and continues to make a distinctive contribution to cultural life in Scotland,” she said.
Her appointment is accompanied by news of three trustees to join Hebrides Ensemble.
Composer BEN LUNN, former Edinburgh International Festival head of artistic management JILL JONES, and a senior leader at vocal ensemble Tallis Scholars, LOUISA STANWAY, will sit on the organisation’s board.
EMMA HAY, chair of trustees, said the board was “significantly strengthened” by its three fresh members, adding: “Cementing strong governance and stable leadership will enable the ensemble to take forward an ambitious programme of work over the coming years, increasing presence and contribution into the sector.”
