There are probably few actors who look hot playing a serial killer. But Charlie Hunnam has somehow pulled it off, according to fans. The trailer for the new season of Monster has been released, and it looks to be the most disturbing instalment yet. What caught many viewers’ attention however, was how good Charlie looks while portraying deranged killer Ed Gein.
Charlie Hunnam stars as Ed Gein in Monster Season 3 on Netflix, and fans are excited
The trailer for the new season of Monster dropped on Monday, and it’s definitely got fans talking. The Netflix show tells the story of a different convicted murderer in each season. The previous two seasons chronicled the crimes of Jeffrey Dahmer and brothers Lyle and Erik Menendez.
This season is focused on Ed Gein. If you’ve never heard of him, buckle up. In addition to committing at least two murders, the reclusive killer also robbed graves and made furniture from body parts.
Not exactly a turn on. But many fans couldn’t help pointing out how good Charlie Hunnam looks playing the unhinged killer.
One wrote: “You can put all the make up on Charlie Hunnam to uglify him but he still looks hot AF.”
Another eloquently added: “OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG DADDY.”
Charlie recently opened up about the challenge of playing the 1950s murderer. Speaking to Variety, he said: “I had the nightmares before I startedOnce I got into it, it was a little easier. But I, for a second, thought maybe I’d made a horrible mistake when I started doing my research and realizing just how despicable some of the stuff he did was.”
The accomplished actor added that Ed Gein was one of “the more gentle monsters”. He explained: “We tell a very, sort of, varied version, like an all encompassing version of who he was. So the gruesomeness, but there’s also a little bit of, I don’t want to say tenderness, but you see the human in him.”
Monster Season 3 hits Netflix on October 3.
