Charlize Theron says her daughters Jackson and August are supportive of her dating and even encourage her

Charlize Theron’s daughters are fans of her dating life — and the actress admits she’s surprised by their reaction.
Appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show on Tuesday, April 28, the Apex actress, 50, explained that she expected her daughters Jackson, 14, and August, 11, to be more upset about her dipping her toes in the dating world.
“My kids are at an age now where they actually enjoy that I’m dating because they want to be involved,” Theron told host Drew Barrymore. “It’s really funny how I was scared they’d be threatened by it, but now they’re like, ‘Mom, is he texting you? Like, go on the date, mom.'”

However, Theron shared that she’s looking for a “very specific” kind of relationship.
“I don’t think I could ever live with somebody again,” she said. “I would love for you to be close, like buy the house down the street, but I don’t know if I can.”
The star attributed some of those feelings to the fact that she prioritizes her kids, and wondered if that might change when they leave the house.
“Maybe it’s because I still have my daughters in the house,” said Theron, “and maybe that will change when I’m an empty nester.”

Earlier this month, Theron spoke with E! News and shared that she found a new way to bond with her daughter while training for her movie Apex.
The mom of two explained that her daughter, August, came with her for a lot of the rock climbing training she did alongside professional climber Beth Rodden.
“She’s a bit of a daredevil,” Theron said of her younger daughter. “Beth and I would be working on one side, and whenever I got tired, I would just look over, and the two of them were just going up these walls.”
The mom of two said it was “really good” for her to see that.
“Sometimes, as an adult, you get so caught up in the mechanics of it,” said Theron. “And then you just look over and these kids who know nothing, they’re just like, ‘Gotta get to the top.'”
“And you’re like, ‘Okay, that’s all I have to do. Just get to the top,’ ” she continued. “It was fun to share that with her.”
