Won’t have to use your imagination to see Cardi B‘s ‘Imaginary Playerz,’ the latest tune from her forthcoming ‘Am I the Drama‘ album to get the video treatment, is off to a solid start on this week’s Hot 100.
Released August 15, the JAY-Z-sampling cut made its debut on this week’s Hot 100 at #70. Here are the numbers that powered its placement.
- Streaming ≈ 5.4 million U.S.-based streams
- Radio Airplay ≈ 2.5 million audience impressions
- Sales ≈ 7,000 digital downloads
Thanks to the handsome streaming, radio, and sales combo outlined above, ‘Playerz’ pounced to a third quadrant premiere on the updated Hot 100. Its arrival marked the highest of any new song printed on the all-genre chart this week.
On the sales front, ‘Playerz’ was also crowned the week’s top-seller among all new female-led songs.
Among all acts, however, only Tom MacDonald‘s previously uncharted tune ‘The Devil Is a Democrat‘ ranked higher on the updated Billboard Digital Song Sales chart.
Undoubted proof of the excitement building for the September 19 delivery of her long-awaited sophomore album ‘Drama,’ the #70 bow of ‘Playerz’ follows the historic top 10 opening of the LP’s lead single ‘Outside.’
