The band is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its founding and its newest album, “Rings: The Acoustic Sessions,” an album “reimagined versions of hits and fan favorites from the (many) years … since 1986.”

The disc marks “the enduring growth of their musical journey,” according to the band’s website.

That journey started with the band’s 1988 debut album, “Bread & Circus,” which included the song “One Little Girl,” which hit the Top 25 on Billboard’s Modern Rock chart.

It followed that with the 1990 album “Pale,” which had the Top 30 Modern Rock hit “Come Back Down.”

Biggest success

But it was the group’s third album, 1991’s “Fear,” that went platinum and included the Top 10 Pop chart hits “All I Want” and “Walk The Ocean.”

Its follow-up album, 1994’s “Dulcinea,” also sold platinum and had the hits “Fall Down” — which topped the Modern Rock chart — and “Something’s Always Wrong.”

It also had a hit from a soundtrack: 1995’s “Good Intentions” from the “Friends” soundtrack. And its final chart appearance was 1997’s “Come Down” from its album “Coil.”

A 1995 compilation disc, “In Light Syrup,” also hit gold.

Toad the Wet Sprocket broke up in 1998, but had occasional reunions until 2009, when it reunited for good.
