Recently California hardcore act Chico signed to New Morality Zine and today the group has delivered their first single through the label. Paired with a music video directed by drummer Tony Rangel, “Too Late” is the first release from the band post signing.
Rangel shared the following:
I wrote this song when I was extremely broke and depressed about it. It’s about the way I envy people who are able to just live a simple life. It’s a pretty self explanatory song, but I guess one of the underlying themes is it feels like the system over us is designed for us to not look past what’s in front of us. Go to work, distract yourself until the next thing, and do that everyday – where the lyric ‘throw away my brain’ comes from. ‘Thrown away everyday,’ everyday we say no to what we want in order to make enough money to barely make rent. But that’s just what we were born into so we deal with it until one day we maybe don’t have to.
Chico is set to kick off a West Coast mini tour with Dreamcast and Free Concern:

05/08 San Diego, CA @ TBA
