Fans discovered ahead of the premiere a major plot twist involving Don Hart (played by Chris O’Donnell).
Chris spoke out about the shocking 9-1-1: Nashville revelation in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
9-1-1: Nashville just premiered on ABC, and Chris O’Donnell is already talking about a twist viewers didn’t see coming.
The latest spinoff in the 9-1-1 franchise is now airing new episodes every Thursday night, and fans are embedding themselves into the world of Station 113. What’s more, folks also saw Chris’ character Don Hart lead a new group of first responders in both their professional and personal lives.
Speaking of personal lives, fans were shocked when 9-1-1: Nashville dropped a bombshell about Don’s past no one saw coming. Ahead of the premiere, viewers learned the fire captain’s son Ryan (Michael Provost) was also a member of the 113 in the trailer. But Don later got a call from newcomer Blue Bennings (Hunter McVey), asking to be part of the team as well. If that’s not enough, it turned out Blue was Don’s son from his past relationship with Dixie (LeAnn Rimes), making Blue and Ryan (whom Don shares with wife Blythe, played by Jessica Capshaw) half-brothers.
Even though fans are going to have to wait to see what comes from this shocking plot twist, Chris already alluded to how this will affect 9-1-1: Nashville moving forward.
As the actor shared in an interview with Entertainment Weekly on October 9, this revelation will certainly make things more interesting in upcoming episodes.
“Finding out unexpectedly that you’re the father of a child, and then not being able to be a part of that child’s life, but kind of watching from afar and trying to be supportive, but having no connection… I can’t imagine what that must be like,” he shared with the outlet.
“You see that with Don when Blue finally reaches out to him and says that he wants to connect, and we’ll learn more about what the motivations were. These are definitely emotions and situations I have not dealt with firsthand, but it’s fun to play around with it.”
Considering how the 9-1-1 franchise loves to heat things up in and out of the fire station, we can only think there’s so much to explore as 9-1-1: Nashville airs this fall!
