Chrissy Teigen recently shared how Ozempic helped her cope with a difficult loss.
On the Thursday, September 18, episode of her Self-Conscious podcast, the model, 39 — who shares kids Luna, 9, Miles, 7, Esti, 2, and Wren, 2, with husband John Legend — revealed she turned to the type 2 diabetes medication after her son Jack passed in 2020.
“When I had lost that baby at 20 weeks, I had probably gained an extra 40 lbs that I wasn’t comfortable with,” she explained.
“I remember way before people were even talking Ozempic, before it was like a celebrity thing or talked about, I had tried it for maybe, like a year or so, and noticed no results for three, four months. Zero. Not a pound lost,” she recalled. “And then all of a sudden, [I] was finally able to lose the weight that was so reminding me of the baby that I had lost.”

The cookbook author said the weight loss drug helped her move forward.
“I felt mentally better because I wasn’t constantly in this deep depression of seeing this pregnant belly with no baby in it,” she admitted.
As for her relationship with food, Teigan noted that it significantly improved afterwards.
“I also felt released from the prison of thinking about food in bad ways,” she told listeners. “Good food in bad ways. I would think of an avocado as bad. I mean, it’s insane what it did not only for me physically but mentally.”
