HBO Max‘s upcoming reboot of Harry Potter has cast most of its characters for Season 1. However, there is no Voldemort yet.
For months, fans have been asking for Oppenheimer’s Cillian Murphy to take on the role of the Dark Lord. However, per a new report, the series has already cast the new He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, but is planning on keeping it under wraps until Season 1 airs in 2027. During a new appearance on the Sad, Happy, Confused podcast, Cillian Murphy responded to the fan casting as Voldemort.
Around the 25:52 mark, host Josh Horowitz brings up the Voldemort casting rumors. Asked if there was any truth to the chatter, Murphy replied, “No.
