Claudia hints next Celeb Traitors cast is “extraordinary!”BBC
Claudia Winkleman has hinted at the “extraordinary” cast for the next season of The Celebrity Traitors. Rumours are abound over who’ll be heading to the castle in season two, with everyone from Bob Mortimer to Courteney Cox tipped.
Host Claudia was pressed a bit about the upcoming season in a new interview on Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden, and while she remained tight-lipped about who will be taking part, it seems we could be in for another stellar cast.
Confirming that she isn’t involved in selecting the participants, she shared: “It’s done by much better people than me. But I have strong opinions. So, they’ve blocked me on their phones!

“I love the fact that the team are so extraordinary that they involve me, so I’m incredibly lucky,” the presenter added. “And they go, ‘What do you think?’ And they do such a good job, and I can’t say anything, but the cast is extraordinary!”
While we’ll have to wait to see who takes part, one heavily rumoured star who has ruled themselves out is Gavin & Stacey’s Ruth Jones.
Revealing she was asked but turned it down, the actor told The Scott Mills Breakfast Show: “I love the show, and I did think, ‘Wouldn’t it be great to do it.’ And then I thought, ‘Ah, you’d have to swim in those lakes, you’d have to put on wetsuits…I’d rather watch. So I am not doing it’.”
Danny Dyer has also called rumours around his involvement “absolute bollocks”, telling The Jonathan Ross Show: “I don’t know why they’re saying it. If they ask me I’ll do it, but no one’s asked me. I would f**king declare it. I’m not on it, you’ll see when it comes on.”

While season two may not be their time, it looks like there will be plenty of opportunities in the future, with the BBC confirming earlier this month that both the Celebrity and civilian edition of The Traitors have been commissioned until at least 2030.
The broadcaster has further promised “even more twists, turns, secrets, epic missions, deception, banishments and, of course, murders aplenty from the now iconic Ardross Castle” in the coming years.
