Controversial conservative commentator Elisabeth Hasselbeck has landed a new daytime TV hosting gig — and it’s not at The View.
Though she returned to — and raised eyebrows at — the Hot Topics table earlier this year to fill in for fellow Republican panelist Alyssa Farah Griffin on maternity leave, the Survivor alum and former permanent View panelist has found a new temporary home at CBS.
News broke Thursday that Hasselbeck will guest-cohost CBS Mornings from Monday through Wednesday of next week, with Hasselbeck being featured during the 8 a.m. hour of the program.

Entertainment Weekly has learned that Hasselbeck will not be doing doing news or political segments, but instead will weigh in on the Talk of the Table and What to Watch segments, as well as topics related to parenting, pop culture, and entertainment.
EW has reached out to a CBS representative for comment.
Before joining The View as a permanent panelist from 2003 to 2013, Hasselbeck got her start at CBS — which is currently embattled in controversy over CBS News head Bari Weiss’ handling of broadcast coverage and its newsmagazine program 60 Minutes — on the reality competition show Survivor.
Since then, Hasselbeck has made occasional appearances on The View, including the aforementioned guest spot earlier this year. During her temporary tenure, Hasselbeck made headlines after clashing with current permanent panelist Sunny Hostin over support for Donald Trump during a heated on-air moment that Hasselbeck later said made her feel “alive.”
Hasselbeck has also spoken out against The View on other occasions, including publicly condemning longtime View star Joy Behar in January 2025, after the comedian spoke out about Carrie Underwood’s decision to perform at Trump’s second inauguration.
The conservative lashed out at Behar online, telling her former colleague that she could “learn from” Underwood’s “strength,” before adding that she thought, at the time, both Behar and The View were “sinking” in popularity.

Hasselbeck also famously clashed with former View moderator Rosie O’Donnell in an infamous 2007 on-air battle over issues related to the war in Iraq, which got so intense that producers cut in the moment to a split-screen format showing both Hasselbeck and O’Donnell on screen at the same time as they shouted at each other.

The moment eventually led to O’Donnell’s first exit from the lineup, and she’d later return in 2014 only to leave in 2015 after another single-season run.
CBS Mornings airs daily on CBS.
