NEW HAVEN, CT — At the Hill North police substation on Hallock Street late Thursday afternoon, the vibe was all about back-to-school.
The New Haven Police Department and community partners provided loads of school supplies, plus there was food from Caliente Deli, Key Foods, and Chef Chrissey Experience, music, and haircuts.
The event, which began at 4 p.m., already had a long line. And, an hour in, hundreds had already been served, and according to police, there was “still a line around the block.”
New Haven Police Department Sgt. Jasmine Sanders and Youth and Recreation Deputy Director Ronald Huggins coordinated the event.
