Thomas Rhett is going to be a daddy again, and he and his wife, Lauren Akins, came up with quite the creative way to announce it.
In a video shared to Instagram, Lauren asked Rhett if he was ready, before backing away from the camera. The singer than began strumming his guitar and singing as his wife joined him standing next to a fence.
“Well, I was wrapping my head around being a dad/ A bigger wrench got thrown in the plans we thought we had/ Now Lauren’s showing, got one on the way.
“That’s …” the singer then stopped to do some counting. “Five under 10, hey, what can I say?”
Lauren then shows off the sonogram photos.
“Here we go again!” they captioned the video. “We’ve got some really excited big sisters in our house. God is so good.”
The couple currently have four daughters. They did not reveal the sex for the baby they are now expecting.
“Congrats guys!!” Jason Aldean responded.
“Congrats man!” Brantley Gilbert added.
“Let’s gooooooo… congrats y’all,” Jordan Davis wrote.
Taste of Country reported that the couple’s oldest daughter is 9-year-old Willa Gray, whom they adopted from Uganda back in 2017. They also have Ada James, 8, Lennon Love, 5, and Lillie Carolina, 3.
Taste of Country noted that Rhett told the outlet back in 2024 that he and his wife wanted to wait until their four girls got a little older before going for a fifth child.
It appears they did not wait long.
Rhett and Akins, who are both 35, were married back in 2012.
