Country singer Bryan Andrews has blasted ICE raids and hit out at Christians who support deportations in a fiery video that has gone viral on social media.
The artist from Carrollton, Missouri, shared a series of videos on his Instagram and TikTok profiles, in which he shared his thoughts on the state of politics and argued that anyone who considers themselves a Christian can’t possibly support Donald Trump‘s deportation agenda.
Bryan joins several other artists who have spoken out against ICE, including Grammy Award-winning singer Zach Bryan who addressed the topic in his new song Bad News.
In a clip captioned “Crash Out,” Bryan said, “We got the Department of f—–g Homeland Security out here sharing hype videos of ICE agents flying in on American cities, banging in doors, jacking people out of their houses, zip-tying them in the streets naked, and then carting them off in the back of U-hauls with no warrants or due process like it’s a f—–g trailer to the newest Call of Duty game.
“And the worst part is, I got to watch some of y’all cheering it on like you’re watching a f—–g football game? And then the cherry on top of it all, I gotta sit here and listen to y’all call yourselves Christians?
His videos, posted while promoting his new single, The Older I Get, were met with mixed reactions, with some Trump supporters unfollowing him – but many other people who didn’t know Bryan before saying they are now happy to become his fans.
“My man. This is the way. Holy rage all day,” a fan commented on Instagram. Another praised Bryan for showing “integrity” with his comments.
A third wrote, “You may have lost some followers with this post but you also just gained A WHOLE LOT MORE.”
Someone else said, “Don’t worry, I’m gladly taking the place of someone who unfollowed you.”
One more wrote, “I don’t love country music, but I will go on Spotify now and listen to your song on repeat. Thank you for speaking out.”
“This is the energy we need right now,” one more fan added. Another commented, “THIS!!! I’m a firm believer that if they do this to immigrants, and we let them…there is nothing to stop them from doing this to citizens.”
Bryan’s criticism came after country music sensation Zach recently shared a preview of his new track, which takes aim at the ICE raids happening across the country.
The song’s explicit criticism has drawn intense backlash from his conservative fan base as well as from The Department of Homeland Security, leading the country singer to respond.
In a message, he wrote, “I wrote this song months ago. I posted this song three months ago as a snippet. This shows you how divisive a narrative can be when shoved down our throats through social media. This song is about how much I love this country and everyone in it more than anything.”
He added, “When you hear the rest of the song, you will understand the full context that hits on both sides of the aisle. Everyone using this now as a weapon is only proving how devastatingly divisive we all are. We need to find our way back.”
