Cristiano Ronaldo joins ‘Fast and Furious’ cast for final film
Football star Cristiano Ronaldo is stepping into Hollywood’s fastest franchise, as the football star joins the cast of Fast X: Part 2, the final chapter of the long-running Fast and Furious series.
The sequel, due for release in April 2027, marks a rare crossover between global football and blockbuster cinema.
For a franchise known for pushing limits, the 40-year-old’s arrival adds a different kind of star power, one built on stadiums, trophies and a worldwide fan base rather than film sets.
Members of the cast have already welcomed him publicly. Actor Tyrese Gibson shared a picture from the set on Instagram, writing, “Welcome to the family! @CristianoRonaldo the global dance just went into new heights.”
Vin Diesel, the face of the franchise since it began in 2001, suggested Ronaldo’s role was not a last-minute stunt.
Posting a selfie with the footballer, he wrote, “Everyone asked, would he be in the Fast mythology I gotta tell you he is a real one. We wrote a role for him,” hinting at a character designed specifically for the athlete.
What that role will be remains unclear. But the move reflects how the Fast and Furious films have grown far beyond street racing.
The series has earned more than $7 billion worldwide and now prepares to close its main storyline.
With Ronaldo joining stars like Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham and Michelle Rodriguez, the final ride looks set to lean heavily on star appeal.
