Critical Role released its latest installment on October 2. This campaign takes place in the brand-new world of Aramán. It brings a fresh story, a new Dungeon Master, and a bigger cast. The campaign features a rotating cast of 13 players, divided into three groups: Soldiers, Seekers, and Schemers. Brennan Lee Mulligan is the Dungeon Master, steering the story with his expert touch.
A lot of fans were nervous about juggling so many characters would fit together. However, the general consensus is that it actually works really well. Not only that, it’s a great time for newbies to come onboard. Co-founder Travis Willingham says now’s a perfect time for newcomers to jump in. The new campaign wipes the slate clean of previous lore.
