Cullman Oktoberfest is set to offer a vibrant celebration of German heritage with a lineup of events and entertainment that promises to captivate attendees. The festival continues Friday and Saturday, featuring a variety of activities, including live music, workshops and contests.
On Friday, the festivities kick off at 10 a.m. with the opening of the Hofbräuhaus Biergarten, Ethos/Goat Island Biergarten and Weihenstephan Biergarten, alongside a Kids Zone and various vendors. Glass blowing and blacksmithing workshops, as well as kids’ contests, begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by live music starting at 4 p.m. The day concludes at 11 p.m.
Saturday starts with the Oktoberfest 5K/10K at 8 a.m., followed by the opening of the biergartens and vendors at 10 a.m. The OktoFURest, featuring Wiener Dog Races and a costume contest, begins at 11 a.m. Live music resumes at 4 p.m., with the festival closing at 11 p.m.
The Hofbräuhaus Biergarten offers an experience reminiscent of Munich, with Bavarian-style servers and entertainment. The Ethos/Goat Island Biergarten, presented by Cullman Savings Bank, showcases local craft beers, while the Weihenstephan Festzelt Biergarten features authentic brews from the world’s oldest brewery.
For families, the Kinderbereich Kids’ Zone offers carnival rides, a Ferris wheel, and a carousel. Additional attractions include the Miss Oktoberfest pageant, a Stein Hoisting contest, and a Brat Eating contest.
Mayor Woody Jacobs, the 2025 Bürgermeister, will lead the celebration, embodying civic pride and leadership. The festival is free to enter, with some activities requiring registration or a cover charge.
