Leaves and temperatures have fallen around Erie and November is a good time to curl up under a blanket on the couch and watch a holiday movie or Thanksgiving show.
Between network TV, cable and streaming services, you should be able to find most of your favorites. Some services do require a subscription or fee to watch, but there are also free options out there.
Here are some suggestions for your entertainment enjoyment:
Animated
Charlie Brown and friends will celebrate Thanksgiving on Apple TV+ this holiday season.
“A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving”: This popular Peanuts holiday show, as well as “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” can be streamed on Apple TV+.
“Free Birds”: A pardoned turkey travels back before the first Thanksgiving to try to stop his fellow birds from ever becoming holiday dinners in this movie streaming on Netflix, YouTube, Tubi and more.
Classics
“The Sound of Music”: Although not about a holiday, this classic movie often pops up around Thanksgiving and this year is airing Nov. 27 at both 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on the Sundance channel and can be streamed anytime on services including AMC+, Disney+, Hulu and BYUtv.

“Miracle on 34th Street”: This Santa movie comes in a 1947 version and a 1994 model, both of which can be found on Disney+, Hulu, Apple TV, YouTube and other services.
“It’s a Wonderful Life”: If you can’t wait for this family favorite to air on NBC on Dec. 24 at 8 p.m., you can stream it on Amazon Prime, fuboTV, Apple TV, YouTube and more.
Thanksgiving Day
Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade: See the balloons, floats, marching bands, celebrities and more in New York City airing live on NBC with a simulcast streaming on Peacock on Nov. 27 from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
NFL: Three football games are on the holiday schedule this year: Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions at 1 p.m. on FOX; Kansas City Chiefs at Dallas Cowboys at 4:30 p.m. on CBS; and Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens at 8:20 p.m. on NBC.
