CyHi has decided to no longer hold his tongue in relation to J. Cole, calling the North Carolina rapper out on a new diss track — listen to it below.

On Friday night (February 27), the rapper also known as CyHi the Prynce took to Instagram to drop a new record titled “B.R.A Lost Control.”

“Outside of all the bullsh!t There’s artists who actually put their life on the line for hip hop ‼️‼️‼️,” he captioned his post.

Produced By Brian AllDay and Mark Byrd, the new track hears CyHi take a number of shots at J. Cole, who apparently he’s had a problem with ever since Cole dropped “False Prophets” in 2016. That track took shots at Kanye West, CyHi’s longtime friend and frequent collaborator. CyHi has stuck with West through all of the latter’s antisemitic statements, Donald Trump alignments, and other controversies of the past decade.

“Aye, bro. Can you let your people know you’re not fuckin’ with me? ‘Cause them thinking you is, is fuckin’ with me,” CyHi opens his latest track, before adding: “I could never fall off” — a reference to Cole’s new album, The Fall-Off.

Keeping things subtle on the first verse, CyHi throws a light jab at Cole, referencing his decision to remove his Kendrick Lamar diss from Might Delete Later.

“You were scared of our good brother in that Grand National, why? / Shoulda knew you and that lil’ Honda was gonna have to collide,” CyHi raps.

The second verse is where things get a lot more direct and intentional, with CyHi sending some scathing shots at Cole, who he calls “St. John” after the University in Queens, New York that Cole graduated from.

“Okay, this might be off topic, but tell St. John that them raps just ain’t that jaw-dropping / You forgot I still owe you for ‘False Prophets’? / I rap punches that’s hard as Bernard Hopkins/ There ain’t no yes men over here, my dawg stop it,” he spits.

The “yes men” reference is a response to Cole’s accusation on “False Prophets” that Ye is surrounded by fake people, specifically “the women, the dickriders” and “the yes men.” In his track, Cole paints these folks as people who don’t have “the balls to say somethin’ to contest” West. CyHi took issue with the claim.

Elsewhere on the track, he tells Cole to watch his mouth, while again referencing his decision to duck Kendrick’s wrath. He also says he’ll tear the Dreamville crew “into pieces” and how it’ll involve “furniture moving like Jamiroquai’s.”

There are parts of the track which hear CyHi question the authenticity of some of today’s newer rappers. It comes after he recently took to social media to criticize rappers with great wordplay but who lack street credentials. Some believed the comments were aimed at Cole, but CyHi clarified they weren’t specifically directed at him.
