Singer D4vd was arrested at his Hollywood Hills rental in connection to the murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas, whose dismembered body was found in the trunk of a Tesla
D4vd, the singer who was arrested on suspicion of murdering a teenage girl, has a surprising connection to Oscar-winning actress Sandra Bullock.
The 21-year-old performer was picked up in the Hollywood Hills by the LAPD’s robbery-homicide division on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at a rental property that was reportedly once owned by the Gravity actress. D4vd was seen being hauled away in handcuffs from the $3.5 million four-bedroom three-bathroom home that boasts A-list neighbors such as Ariana Grande and Jimmy Kimmel.
D4vd, real name David Anthony Burke, is being held in connection to the murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas, whose dismembered body was found in the trunk of a Tesla registered to the singer in September 2025.

According to TMZ, by the time the TikTok star moved into the home, which ran for $17,500 a month, the property had not been owned by the 61-year-old movie star since 2018. Sandra first purchased the home, built in 1942, for $1.48 million in 2001 and maintained ownership of the bungalow for 17 years before selling it for $2.9 million.
LAPD officers reportedly blocked the road as they searched the home, which remained in effect around 8PM that night, though authorities allowed local residents to bypass the blockade to access their homes, including Kimmel, who was reportedly permitted to pass on his way home from work.
The home on Doheney Drive had been searched by police investigating Celeste’s death. In December, several items were taken as evidence, including multiple computers and other electronic devices.
Some concerning items were reportedly discovered during the search, including “heavy farm equipment,” a burn cage incinerator, a chainsaw, and a large freezer. The teenager’s badly decomposed body was found dismembered inside the car registered to the singer before being positively identified as Celeste through dental records.
The 2023 Tesla had been parked and presumed abandoned on a street near the home before it was taken to the Hollywood Tow Service impound lot, where workers noticed a foul odor emanating from the front trunk, leading to the gruesome discovery made just one day after Celeste’s 15th birthday.
During the investigation, the Texas-born singer canceled the remainder of his tour and reportedly holed up at a luxurious home in the Hollywood Hills.
After the arrest, D4vd’s legal team released a statement insisting that he did not murder the missing teen, with whom he is suspected to have been romantically involved. The statement read, “There has been no indictment returned by any grand jury in this case and no criminal complaint filed. David has only been detained under suspicion. We will vigorously defend David’s innocence.”
