Dakota Johnson is the newest Calvin Klein Girl

Dakota Johnson is stepping into her latest role — as a Calvin Klein Girl. The iconic American brand unveiled the Materialists actress as the ambassador of its spring 2026 campaign on Monday, releasing a California-cool campaign video.

Johnson’s partnership with the brand shouldn’t come as a total surprise. Ahead of Monday’s announcement, Calvin Klein teased its new brand ambassador on social media by posting two campaign photos, captioned, “a new icon will be revealed.” Fans were quick to identify the woman as Johnson, thanks to her distinctive back tattoo.

“Calvin Klein jeans and underwear have a timeless quality that makes everything feel right the moment you put them on,” Johnson said in the campaign’s press release. “When a woman is alone at home working or reading or doing whatever, it can feel quite liberating and sensual. Channeling that, and pairing that energy with Calvin Klein’s iconography, felt both singular and classic. I love that this campaign celebrates being comfortable, free and sexy on your own terms. Sometimes, a woman just BEING is the sexiest thing.”

In the video, Johnson is seen lounging in a midcentury-modern home in an array of Calvin Klein pieces —  reading a script and basking in the California sun in the brand’s new sculpting bra, playing pool in Calvin-branded underwear and dancing on her bed in baggy blue jeans.

Johnson told Elle that collaborating with Calvin was a no-brainer.

“Working with Calvin at this moment feels very symbiotic with where I am currently in my life,” she said. “I’m at a place in my womanhood where I feel quite calm and centered. I spend a lot of time at home. I feel very comfortable in my body. Doing the denim and underwear campaign in the tone of very laid-back sensuality felt like it’s just a sort of truth of where I’m at right now.”

Johnson’s Calvin Klein campaign feels rooted in a cool nonchalance — a sexiness that comes from being totally confident in your own skin.

“I think the sexiest clothing items are the ones that make you feel good in your body. Feeling good in clothes changes your energy and physicality,” she added. “Sometimes being in a big ratty T-shirt is the sexiest thing in the world. Sometimes being in lacy lingerie makes you feel like a garbage can. For me, it’s all about the way something makes me feel.”

Online, Johnson’s new campaign appears to be garnering positive responses.

“No, but dakota johnson for Calvin Klein is something I didn’t know I needed,” one X user wrote. Another fan chimed in, “another happy international women’s day to me because DAKOTA JOHNSON YOU ARE INSANE FOR THIS.”

Johnson, who attended the brand’s fall 2026 runway show during New York Fashion Week last month, joins a roster of influential celebrities who’ve taken their turn as Calvin Klein campaign stars, including Justin and Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner, Kaia Gerber, Megan Thee Stallion and Jennie Kim.

Brooke Shields, Mark Wahlberg and Kate Moss are among the brand’s most defining models.

Buzz surrounding the celebrated brand has been amplified in recent weeks, following the release of  Love Story, the Ryan Murphy-executive-produced FX series, which dramatizes the whirlwind romance between John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. Carolyn famously worked as a publicist at Calvin Klein in the ‘90s and was known for her chic, minimalist wardrobe — now dubbed the CBK Method — which often featured pieces from the American designer.
