PRINCE William wants Andrew to leave Royal Lodge for one deeply personal reason, a royal expert has claimed.
Efforts to oust disgraced Andrew – who has been engulfed by the Jeffery Epstein scandal – have now dragged on for almost three years and talks led by King Charles have become increasingly strained.
The ongoing saga has also been dubbed the “Siege of Royal Lodge” by some Royal insiders.
It has seen Prince William and Kate Middleton dragged into the battle and they reportedly want Andrew out of Royal Lodge in a matter of days.
Now, a royal expert has claimed that Prince William may want Andrew out for one particular reason.
Speaking on the Royal Exclusive show, she said: “A potential King William, inevitable King William, wants to make the Windsor estate his home.
“He wants it to be a sanctuary and a safe space for his three small children.
“I believe that Fergie and Andrew are distractions and could potentially jeopardise the future of the royal family if they still stay.
“I think it’s out of sight, out of mind.”
It comes as sources have confirmed that the pariah prince is now in “advanced talks” with representatives of King Charles about finally leaving the 30-room mansion in Windsor.
It is understood that Andrew and Sarah, who have not been seen leaving their Royal Lodge home for nearly four weeks, are now under “immense pressure” to leave and leave soon.
The Sun revealed this week that during “advanced talks” Andy, the late Queen’s favourite son, had suggested he would leave Royal Lodge in exchange for Frogmore Cottage – where workmen and decorators have recently been seen working round the clock.
The 65-year-old Prince was first offered the Grade-II listed home when Prince Harry and wife Meghan were ordered to leave it in January 2023.
Sarah Ferguson, 66, had asked for Adelaide Cottage after Prince William and wife Kate’s expected move to Forest Lodge early next month.
Yet a source close to Fergie maintains it was the palace who first offered her Adelaide Cottage in May.
But Royal sources instantly shot down her claims — saying Adelaide Cottage was never offered to the ex-Duchess of York.
Prince William was even dragged into the bitter housing row with clams he sought to put pressure on Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice to persuade their parents to quit Royal Lodge.
Meanwhile, the Prince and Princess of Wales are also said to want the disgraced royal to leave before they move into Forest Lodge, also in Windsor Great Park, before Bonfire Night.
The pair want Andrew gone from his 30-room mansion by the time they move to their eight-bedroom home, which is just over a mile from Royal Lodge.

An unnamed source told the Daily Mail: “Catherine shudders at the thought of living so close to Royal Lodge while Prince Andrew is still in it.
“William wants him gone before they start to move in next week.
“It’s not about what Andrew doesn’t want to do anymore. It’s about what he’s going to be told to do.”
Andrew has a lease at Royal Lodge running to 2078, and he could receive a huge settlement if he leaves early.
He has paid no rent for 20 years. Sarah has also been living there since 2008, despite them getting divorced in 1996.
Grade II-listed Royal Lodge has a garden the size of around 60 football pitches and gated entry manned by security as it is surrounded by Windsor Great Park.
The Georgian mansion — which has had protesters at its gates demanding an end to “royal secrecy” over the Epstein affair — is laid out over three storeys with a two-storey wing.
It features a drawing room, conservatory, seven bedrooms and 15-metre-long saloon.
Andrew took on the lease from his gran, the Queen Mother, and spent £7.5million on renovations when he moved in 22 years ago.
Although it is owned by the Crown Estate, it would fetch up to £30million on the open market — far more than Frogmore and Adelaide cottages combined.
Work across the estate at Frogmore Cottage in 2019 initially cost the taxpayer £2.4million.
