Dejected Jimmy Kimmel staffer calls out ‘MAGA a–hats’ while making prediction about show’s future

A dejected Jimmy Kimmel staffer said they “can’t imagine a scenario” in which the late-night show returns after ABC indefinitely axed it over the comedian’s false claim that Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin was a MAGA supporter.

The now-unemployed “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” worker insisted the one-hour late-night show will remain permanently shelved, saying right-wing critics are unrelenting and Disney — ABC’s parent company — will likely buy out the host and fill his slot with reruns of other flagship network programs.

“Even if Jimmy was willing to publicly apologize and donate money to whatever ghoulish conservative group that is demanding it….MAGA people will never be happy,” the unidentified staffer told veteran journalist Rick Ellis in an interview published on his “Too Much TV” Substack Friday.

“It will never be enough. And Disney will look at the situation and decide it’s cheaper to buy out the rest of his contract and replace the show with reruns of ‘Modern Family’ and ‘Judge Judy,’” the staffer charged.

“Somehow, they’ll convince themselves the worst is behind them. Until a day or two pass and they find themselves having to defend Whoopi [Goldberg] and the other women of ‘The View.’ And no one wants to be in that position.”

The despondent staffer said they weren’t shocked by the decision to suspend the show but was surprised by the timing, explaining that the job has intensified since November’s presidential election.

They added that in recent weeks, it became clear Disney CEO Bob Iger and ABC executives would kill the late-night staple if it risked hurting “attendance to Disney World or cost anyone their annual bonus.”

“I was surprised that it happened that specific day. But you could see it coming,” the worker said.

“Every time some MAGA a–hat would spout off about the show, the knot in my stomach just got tighter.”

The former employee maintained that they stand by the 57-year-old comedian’s controversial remarks about the conservative activist’s hateful assassination at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10.

“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said during his opening monologue on Monday.

The comedian’s careless tirade came a day after authorities announced that the accused killer, Tyler Robinson, 22, held a “leftist ideology.”

The long-running show was officially yanked from the air Wednesday — and Kimmel has since refused dozens of calls to apologize.

FCC Chairman Brendan Carr warned Thursday that networks holding TV licenses, like ABC, NBC and CBS, have an obligation to serve the public interest, which Kimmel failed to do by “appearing to directly mislead the American public.”

President Trump — often targeted in Kimmel’s liberal-leaning monologues — celebrated the move, highlighting the his “bad ratings” and vowing to go after other late-night hosts.

While Kimmel has not commented publicly on the suspension, he was spotted Thursday afternoon in Los Angeles driving to his lawyer’s office for a meeting.

Kimmel has hosted the ABC show since 2003.
