The couple hit one year of marriage on May 25, but they were unable to celebrate the milestone that day due to their respective touring schedules. At the time, Lovato, 33, performed at the Toyota Center in Houston as part of her “It’s Not That Deep” tour while Lutes, 35, performed at Melkweg in Amsterdam as part of his “Far From Dilworth” European tour.
About two weeks later on Wednesday, June 10, Lovato revealed on Instagram that she and her husband were able to reconnect and celebrate their first wedding anniversary with a romantic getaway to Barcelona, Spain.
The “Cool for the Summer” singer shared several photos from the trip, including shots of the pair sightseeing, spending time at the beach, and enjoying local cuisine. The couple appeared to stay at the luxury hotel InterContinental Barcelona.
The final photo in the carousel was of an elderly couple standing side by side and looking out at the water, perhaps foreshadowing Lovato and Lutes growing old together.
“First of forever!! happy anniversary baby @jutesmusic,” Lovato wrote in the caption. She also shared the post, set to “SS26” by Charli xcx, on her Instagram Stories.
Lutes commented, “My baby 🖤 I love u so much.”

The musician added the post to his Instagram Stories, stopping on a photo of his wife smiling at him over dinner. “And the most adorable human ever award goes to,” he wrote on screen.
On their actual anniversary, the couple — who went public with their romance in 2022 — expressed their love for each other with heartfelt tributes on Instagram alongside photos of them together throughout their relationship.

“Happy one year anniversary to my wifey!” Lutes wrote on Instagram on May 25. “It’s crazy to think a year has gone by already, and somehow I love you even more than I did a year ago. You’re SO clearly my soulmate and the best friend I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to see you and devour your face. I love you beyond words baby 🖤.”
Lovato commented, “Happy anniversary my love, u r the best thing that’s ever happened to me!!!” She added in a second comment, “i love u angel!!!!”

Later that day, the Camp Rock star wrote on Instagram, “1 year married to the one i love the most, my best friend and my favorite human @jutesmusic. 365 days ago i stood across from u reciting my vows, thinking it wasn’t possible to love u anymore than i already do, but here we r a year later, and somehow i love u even more than that.”
She continued, “This has been the best year of my life. it’s the snuggles in the mornings, random slow dances, leaving parties early to go get taco bell together, nights staying up way too late laughing our asses off til we cry, doing goofy s— trying to out-weird each other that made this year so special for me. these r memories i cherish and cannot wait to make more of. i love u so much.. happy anniversary baby!! 💞💞💞.”
Lutes commented, “I will never ever know how I ended up with someone as special as u. My favorite human and my whole universe. I love u so much baby.”
