Demi Moore Goes Custom in Gucci for Kering Women in Motion Dinner

Demi Moore sported custom Gucci when she joined a bevy of high-profile attendees at the Kering Women in Motion Dinner during the 2026 Cannes Film Festival on Sunday night in Cannes, France.

The Oscar-nominated “The Substance” star continued her designer style streak with a glossy purple gown designed by Gucci creative director Demna, who officially joined the Italian luxury fashion house in July 2025 following his stint at Balenciaga.

The dress featured a reptilian style inspiration with its fabric, a scale-like motif evocative of serpenti material. The formfitting dress was crafted with an off-the-shoulder, short-sleeve silhouette and fitted bodice.

A highlight of Moore’s ensemble, however, was the actress’ Boucheron statement necklace. The collar design featured an array of diamonds and added sparkling contrast to the actress’ overall look. Moore’s Kering Women in Motion dinner ensemble was curated by her longtime stylist Brad Goreski.

Moore was not the only attendee to sport a Gucci design at Sunday night’s gala. Salma Hayek Pinault, whose husband of 17 years is Kering chairman François-Henri Pinault, also wore a custom look from the Italian luxury fashion house. Unlike Moore’s dress, Hayek’s was white and featured a bevy of plumage.

Kering, which owns Gucci, sees an opportunity to revive the brand under the creative direction of Demna. Chief executive officer of Kering Luca de Meo outlined a plan for the Italian luxury label’s next chapter during the group’s Capital Markets Day in Florence. Gucci contributes up to 40 percent of the French group’s sales.

“As an Italian, it’s very easy for me to understand that Gucci is more than a brand. It’s one of the most admired expressions of the culture of this country. If you ask ChatGPT what are the most popular Italian brands, it will tell you Ferrari, Gucci and Nutella — just try,” de Meo said, per Luisa Zargani’s April 2026 WWD report.

Kering, which also owns luxury fashion houses Saint Laurent and Balenciaga, hosted its annual Women in Motion Dinner on Sunday night, honoring the contributions in front of and behind the camera of women in the film industry. The gala first launched in 2015.
