Aaron Phypers, the estranged husband of actress Denise Richards, spoke publicly ahead of his court appearance this week. The actor addressed his ex-wife’s recent abuse allegations in a brief exchange with reporters. He firmly denied the claims while commenting on their ongoing legal battle.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight on October 8 before entering court for day two, Phypers dismissed the claims as “bulls**t,” emphasizing that the accusations were completely false. He added, “I’ll always love her. I want to make sure she gets the best, but right now I just got to look after myself and my family.”
Richards, 54, testified at the Los Angeles Superior Court on October 7. She alleged that Phypers, 53, caused her “at least three concussions” during their marriage.
She recounted incidents from 2022 to 2025, claiming that Phypers “slammed [her] up against the concrete wall,” “squeezed [her] head so hard” it “felt like he was crushing [her] skull,” and once “smashed [her] on the top of [her] head” while yelling for her phone. Her cousin, Kathleen McAllister, testified that she saw Phypers hit Richards in January 2022, leaving her with a black eye.
Phypers has firmly rejected the allegations, stating in court documents, “I have not abused her and will not abuse her.” In a statement to Page Six, his representative said, “Aaron will be vindicated when the truth comes out. The Phypers family has been ruined by Denise’s lies.” Phypers also claimed Richards’ legal actions are “egregious bullying tactics of lies and onslaught of legal maneuvers in [an] attempt to suffocate the truth.”
The couple, who married in 2018 and separated in July 2025, remain in court as Richards seeks to make her temporary restraining order permanent, which would require Phypers to stay 100 yards away for five years.
