Dancing with the Stars’ judge Derek Hough has teased the return of former host Tom Bergeron in a hidden comment.
Derek, 40, officially joined the judging panel on the show in 2020 for season 29 – the same year Tom ended his hosting duties when he had a disagreement with DWTS producers over the controversial casting of former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer in season 28.
Tom’s co-host, Erin Andrews, also left at the time, with the changes rocking the production after he had spent 15 years hosting the series.
However, it seems Tom could be set to make a comeback on DWTS if a comment Derek left while replying to a fan on Instagram is correct.
He responded when someone shared a news article which claimed that Tom would be interested in returning in the upcoming season for one night only.
A second mentioned original showrunner Conrad Green as they shared, “Yeah from reading his recent interview I heavily suspect he will be involved in some way. He had said he told Conrad his idea.”
A third posted, “I miss him a lot. The show changed so much since he left.”
A fourth commented, “Oh this would make me happy! Don’t know if he’d guest judge (Tom would probably just give everyone a 10) but hope he’s involved in some other way, if not a guest judge.”
A fifth said, “Ohhh I would love him as a guest judge or even host for one night!! with Julianne and have Alfonso guest judge or other way around, I just doubt they would have two male hosts.”
