Diane Keaton‘s daughter, Dexter “Dexie” White, shared a touching tribute to her late mom on her first Mother’s Day since the iconic actress’s death in October 2025.
On Sunday, May 10, White, 30, took to Instagram with a throwback photo of Keaton posing on a beach with her young daughter, whom Keaton adopted in 1996 when she was 50.
“First Mother’s Day without you,” the bereaved daughter began the update. “I miss you more than words can say.” White added, “Missing her voice, her hugs, her presence, and everything that made her home I love you, Mom
.”
Two other snapshots showed Keaton hugging White on her wedding day and the doting mother kissing her daughter on the cheek.

In the comments, White’s followers joined her in honoring Keaton and sharing their condolences. Sabrina the Teenage Witch actress Caroline Rhea wrote, “Sending you lots of love.”
Another Instagram user shared, “Hang in there, Dexter…happy heavenly Mother’s Day to your beautiful mom. Big hugs to you and the family!”
Someone else pointed out, “Such a beautiful tribute. Completely shows the world she was a real person, unlike most of Hollywood. Bravo daughter. Bravo.”
A different follower echoed, “Big hugs. Always hard. She’ll always be with you.
.”
Meanwhile, yet another Instagram user commented,”The entire world misses your beautiful, special Mom
.”
On October 11, Keaton — who was known for her iconic roles in Something’s Gotta Give, The Family Stone, Annie Hall, The Godfather trilogy, Father of the Bride, The First Wives Club, and more — died of pneumonia at 79.
“The Keaton family are very grateful for the extraordinary messages of love and support they have received these past few days on behalf of their beloved Diane,” a statement from her family read, per People.
The message continued, “She loved her animals, and she was steadfast in her support of the unhoused community, so any donations in her memory to a local food bank or an animal shelter would be a wonderful and much appreciated tribute to her.”
