The iconic Hollywood star has seen tributes pouring in from around the world for one of the most easily recognized faces in the movie business.
While Diane had a fruitful career, she shied away from family life, choosing never to marry, but that didn’t stop her from being a mom.

Was Diane Keaton Ever Married?
Despite being romantically linked to many stars, including Al Pacino, Diane never married and decided to stay single throughout her life.
Talking to Interview magazine in 2021, she said, “It goes back to my mother, because, for me, most everything does. I love my dad, of course—that goes without saying—but she was always there, and he was always working. He was working hard, and he was really interesting. And he loved her, too.”
She continued, “I saw how much she gave up… I feel like she chose family over her dreams. And she was just the best mother, but I think that she is the reason why I didn’t get married. I didn’t want to give up my independence.
“No one has ever asked me to marry them…so that might be a good answer. I should’ve started with that and called it a day.”
Despite her opting never to marry, that didn’t stop Diana from having a family life. She adopted two children on her own: one daughter, Dexter Keaton, 29, and one son, Duke Keaton, 25.
