Taylor Swift is ready to put the past behind her as he prepares to say “I do” to Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce.
According to the Daily Mail, the “I Knew It, I Knew You” singer has reportedly extended an “olive branch” to her former best friend, Blake Lively, inviting the Gossip Girl star to her upcoming wedding.
Swift and Lively were close friends for years before their friendship faltered, allegedly after the 14-time Grammy winner was dragged into Lively’s messy legal war with her It Ends With Us co-star and director, Justin Baldoni. “Taylor was not happy about being dragged into the lawsuit but was more receptive to speaking to Blake as the suit came to a close,” a source told the outlet. “Blake was ready to resume their friendship because it really was what caused its demise.”
After their friendship soured, Swift and Lively have apparently been trying to mend their previously unbreakable bond. An insider claimed that they “never fully stopped being friends” and that they’ve even “spoken on the phone.” The source added, “Everyone around Taylor is aware that Blake could attend. She may not, but that won’t be because she isn’t welcome.”
Another insider noted, “Blake is on the cusp of getting a second chance, and they have had some loose conversations to test the waters to get the trust back. Blake is slowly getting back into the fold now that Taylor is having a change of heart.”
This comes after a May 2026 report from Shuter, which revealed that after Lively settled her legal dispute with Baldoni, she immediately got to work on repairing her friendship with Swift.
“Blake genuinely believes there’s still a path back,” one source told Shuter’s Naughty But Nice. “Now that the legal mess is over, she thinks the hardest part is behind her and there’s real hope they can move forward.”
A separate insider said Lively “already has a dress picked out” for Swift and Kelce’s big day. “That’s how convinced she was — and still is — that this friendship can be saved.”
While Swift and Lively seem determined to reconcile, the same cannot be said for Swift’s longtime pals, Miles Teller and his wife, Keleigh Sperry-Teller. In early June, TMZ reported that Swift didn’t invite the Tellers to her wedding after a falling out.
On June 13, the Daily Mail reported that Keleigh began distancing herself from Swift after it emerged that Lively referred to the “Love Story” singer as her “dragon” during her courtroom battle with Baldoni.
“Keleigh didn’t want to be a part of it,” an insider explained, adding that she “couldn’t believe they were talking like that to each other.”
Strangely enough, before that, Lively reportedly “felt threatened” by Swift’s “closeness” with Keleigh. After Swift began dating Kelce, she and Keleigh started spending more time together than Swift and Lively, prompting the A Simple Favor actress to try and “tear their friendship apart to be Taylor’s number one.”
“Friends told Keleigh to protect her mental health; she needs to take space, but they were still in contact here and there,” the source said. Another insider claimed that the rift widened when “Keleigh told Taylor she felt like she was always playing second, third, or even fourth fiddle to her other friends.”
The breaking point reportedly came when Swift didn’t reach out to Keleigh or Miles after they lost their home in the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires. “That was the nail in the coffin of the friendship,” an insider said. At the time, Swift was said to be “exhausted” after two years on her Eras Tour and was “in touch with very few people.”
Despite this, mutual friends hope Keleigh and Swift can one day repair their friendship. “All of our friends are currently trying to fix this but it’s hard to come back from losing everything and not hearing from your once closest friend,” a source stated.
Reportedly, Keleigh feels that attending Swift and Kelce’s nuptials would make “Taylor look good” and make her look “like a doormat.” As a source put it, “Keleigh wants the friendship to work itself out naturally without media book ending it. She is literally still heartbroken.”
As for Miles, he’s reportedly “absolutely disgusted” by some of the allegations that have surfaced, particularly regarding “lifestyle differences.”
