Dionne Warwick doesn’t play when it comes to women, especially Black women.
After Piers Morgan accused Beyoncé of “cultural appropriation” after her final Levi’s ad debuted, Warwick proverbially told Bey to get behind her as she fired off a snarky tweet that read, “Getting involved in women’s business again, I see…”
She also agreed with a fan who felt that Morgan’s criticism was “giving obsessed.”
Upon seeing a photo from that last installment of Bey’s Levi’s campaign, he tweeted, “Very disappointed to see Beyoncé culturally appropriate Marilyn Monroe in her new Levi’s ad.”
He quickly retracted his statement.
“I would say I can’t believe anyone took my obvious Beyoncé joke post seriously… but I forgot the woke brigade have zero sense of humour,” wrote the 60-year-old broadcaster. He later questioned, “I think the whole concept of ‘cultural appropriation’ is bulls**t. What’s wrong with celebrating another country’s fashion, food etc?”
Morgan even replied to Warwick’s reply. “Oh not you too, Dionne… it was a JOKE!,” he commented.
For those still wondering if Warwick is actually behind her X account, the answer is yes according to a new video. “Hey y’all, it’s Auntie!,” she quipped. “Why is it that you all find it so difficult to think that I could write my tweets? Why not?!”
The caption read, “I don’t know what else to say at this point. We’re going on 5 years now.”
Earlier this week, Bey’s Levi’s ad was also slammed by Megyn Kelly. “Quite clearly there is nothing natural about Beyoncé,” she tweeted. “Everything — from her image to her fame to her success to her look below — is bought and paid for. Screams artificial, fake, enhanced, trying too hard.”
However, true fans of the COWBOY CARTER singer were too busy taking note of potential act iii easter eggs to notice.
