Disney Branded Television has partnered with Cake and MGA Entertainment to air the first two seasons of “Armorsaurs” globally. The children’s sci-fi action series, which blends animated and live-action storytelling, will debut on Disney XD on Oct. 13 in the United States, before becoming available globally on Disney+ in February 2026.
“Armorsaurs” is based off of the 2021 South Korean television series “Armored Saurus,” developed by Daewon Media. The titular robotic dinosaurs are machines piloted by humans who, in the new series, must defend Earth from a monstrous alien invasion trying to resurrect its prehistoric army.
MGA and Daewon Media produced the first 13-episode season, with Cake managing media distribution globally outside of Daewon’s territories in Korea, China and Japan. Disney has acquired all 26 episodes across the first two seasons.
The deal marks a leap forward for MGA Entertainment’s film and television aspirations. Primarily known as the toy company behind Bratz, Ninjombie, and Little Tikes, MGA has a wealth of known intellectual properties, and the deal with Disney coincides with its launch of Armorsaurs toys, digital content, lifestyle products and games, building a brand from the screen outward.
In a press release, MGA founder and CEO Isaac Larian states, “’Armorsaurs’ embodies MGA’s passion for bold storytelling and global entertainment. Together with Disney, Cake, and Daewon Media, we’ve reimagined this hit property for today’s audiences, and we can’t wait to share it with kids and families worldwide. This is just the beginning of a global franchise.”
The series will star Jailen Bates, Avianna Mynhier, Jakob Makabi, Derrick Kwak, Sade Louise, Michael Dorn, Julien Kang , Yvonne Chapman and Andrew Russell, and will feature music by K-Pop talent Tomorrow X Together.
