Dolly Parton has broken her silence on the ‘deathbed’ rumors that have been circulating about her, after her sister Stella Parton pleaded with fans to “pray” for her amid concerns
Dolly Parton has finally broken her silence and tackled speculation she was seriously unwell and even on her deathbed after postponing her Las Vegas residency, releasing a social media clip where she playfully told supporters she “ain’t dead yet.”
The country legend, 79, has faced mounting health worries for weeks after news broke that she had delayed her upcoming performances for several months, with fans sharing their concerns.
Following her sister’s public appeals for people to “pray” for her, and claims she was “unwell,” Parton has now officially set the record straight, posting on Instagram to assure fans that she’s nowhere near death’s door.

Perched on a stool against a green screen while recording promotional content for The Grand Ole Opry, the star donned a red outfit with black fringe as she looked directly into the camera to tackle the concerns.
She also maintained her signature blonde locks in a half-up style as she delivered her message, reports the Express US.
With the caption “I ain’t dead yet,” Parton then told her followers she appreciated their prayers, but emphasized she was doing perfectly well.
“I wanted to say, I know lately everybody thinks that I am sicker than I am,” she explained. “Do I look sick to you? I’m working hard here!”
She then expressed her desire to calm people’s worries, before explaining she was simply handling matters she had put aside while caring for her late husband, Carl Dean, who passed away in March. “I’ve got some problems, as I mentioned, back when my husband Carl was very sick, that was for a long time, and then when he passed, I didn’t take care of myself, so I let a lot of things go that I should have been taking care of,” she said.
“So, anyway, when I got around to it, the doctor said, ‘We need to take care of this, we need to take care of that,’ nothing major. But I did have to cancel some things so I could be closer to home.
“But I wanted you to know that I’m not dying,” she continued.
She also made light of an AI image that went viral, showing Reba McEntire beside her hospital bed, before reassuring supporters once more that death wasn’t knocking at her door.
“Anyway, there’s just a lot of rumors flying around, but I figured if you’d heard it from me, you’d know that I was okay,” she said, “So, anyhow, that’s what I wanted to say, and I’m not ready to die yet.”
Parton’s remarks followed growing worry among fans after her sister made a public statement, which the country legend is reportedly “furious” about.
Her message received an outpouring of support from numerous admirers who all shared their relief at hearing her speak directly about the situation. “The Dolly Momma has spoken!!! Rest up sweet Dolly. Lord knows you deserve a little downtime!” one person commented.
“MISS DOLLYYYY! Praise the Lord. The world loves you to pieces and we are still praying for you, just in case. love you so much,” another wrote.
“Thank you Dolly. The world needs you more than ever!!” a third added.
