Dolly Parton has postponed an upcoming appearance in Las Vegas due to “health challenges,” according to a Sept. 28 announcement the singer published on Instagram.
“As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon,” Parton wrote in the post. She went on to say that she planned to continue to work on “all of her projects from here in Nashville.
“I just need a little time to get show ready, as they say. And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet.”

So far, 2025 has seen the 79-year-old Country Music and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer launch a Broadway-ready musical, symphony concert performance and a forthcoming downtown Nashville hotel. She’s also released a Christmas book, prepared new Dollywood amusement park exhibitions, beverage and food items and a Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum exhibition in the last 12 months.
Three months ago, the “9 to 5” performer announced that she would perform a Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace from Dec. 4-13.
Now those events will be rescheduled.

Parton noted in her Instagram post that her doctors said she needed to have “a few procedures,” but didn’t elaborate.
“I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you,” she added in her post. She signed off by telling fans that she loved them and thanked them for understanding.
Parton’s first extended run in more than 30 years, Dolly: Live in Las Vegas is billed as an event that weaves together “seven decades of classic hits and fan favorites including ‘9 to 5,’ ‘Jolene,’ ‘I Will Always Love You,’ (and) ‘Coat Of Many Colors.'”
