Dolly Parton is prioritizing her health.
On Sunday, September 28, the country legend 79, took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message letting fans know she needs to “postpone” her six-show residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, which was set to kick off in December.
“As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures,” the singer-songwriter wrote in part. “As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!”
The “Jolene” vocalist explained she was “not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show” that her fans “deserve to see.”
“While I’ll still be able to work on all of my projects from here in Nashville, I just need a little time to get show ready,” she noted.
“And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet,” Parton added. “But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so l can be ready for more big adventures with all of you.”

As Star previously reported, the “9 to 5” hitmaker was unable to attend the unveiling of a new ride at her Dollywood theme park in Tennessee earlier this month due to a medical issue.
“I had a kidney stone that was causing me a lot of problems, turned out it gave me an infection, and the doctor said, ‘You don’t need to be traveling right this minute,’” the Grammy Award winner explained in a video message.
Additionally, a source spoke to the Examiner last week and claimed that those close to her felt she was overloading her schedule following the passing of her husband, Carl Dean, in March.
“Everyone has been begging her to slow down, but her answer is that Carl would want her to keep working, because it makes her happy,” the source alleged.
“It’s in her nature to push through hard times and keep smiling, and everyone admires her strength,” the source continued, “but at a certain point it becomes very unhealthy. Her friends worry that she’s going to work herself into the ground.”
