President Donald Trump made a royal announcement involving his wife, Melania Trump, King Charles III and Queen Camilla on the heels of another round of “No Kings’ protests.
On Tuesday, March 31, the White House and the official POTUS Instagram accounts shared the joint update featuring a Truth Social post from Trump.
“Melania and I are pleased to announced that Their Majesties, the King and Queen of the United Kingdom, will visit the United States for a Historic State Visit from April 27–30th, which will include a beautiful Banquet Dinner at the White House on the evening of April 28th,” he wrote.
Trump added, “This momentous occasion will be even more special this year, as we commemorate the 250th Anniversary of our Great Country. I look forward to spending time with the King, whom I greatly respect. It will be TERRIFIC!”

In the comments, Instagram users shared their reactions to the royal news. One follower declared, “Donald Trump is the king of trolling. With all the no kings protests Happening he decided to bring a king to the White House.”
Another echoed, “I feel like this is next level MAGA trolling bringing a real king to America when we just had a no king protest.”
Someone else wrote, “The people of the UK are furious about this, in case anyone was in doubt.”
Meanwhile, a different Instagram user commented, “God bless you Mr president 🫡🫶.”
The news came after more than 8 million people gathered in cities across the nation on Saturday, March 28, to protest Trump and his administration. Over 3,300 “No Kings” protests were held across all 50 states.
In September, the POTUS and first lady traveled to visit the British royal family during a two-day trip to the U.K. They arrived in London on Sept. 17, during which Trump broke royal protocol while greeting Kate Middleton and Prince Williamat Windsor Castle.
