KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Royals are stepping up to the plate, not just on the field but to help save lives this summer.
The Royals and the Community Blood Center (CBC) are teaming up for their annual summer blood drive as local blood supplies remain critically low.
Everyone who donates Monday, June 1, through Sunday, June 14, at any CBC donor center or mobile blood drive will receive two vouchers redeemable for tickets to a select 2026 Royals home game, while supplies last.
In addition, CBC and the Royals will host a special blood drive at Kauffman Stadium on Wednesday, June 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donors who come to give at the stadium drive may choose between a limited-edition 2026 Royals T-shirt or two Royals ticket vouchers.
O-negative, B-negative and O-positive donors are urgently needed, CBC said.
Summer is traditionally one of the most difficult times for maintaining the blood supply due to school breaks, vacations and seasonal travel—but trauma cases and emergency needs often increase during these warmer months.
CBC said this summer’s need is especially significant as Kansas City prepares to welcome the world for upcoming FIFA World Cup matches. CBC is proud to serve as the blood supplier for Kansas City’s FIFA World Cup-designated hospitals, making a stable blood supply more important than ever.
“We are so grateful to the Kansas City Royals for stepping up to the plate to help us maintain the blood supply during the critical summer months with this fun seasonal campaign,” said Chelsea Tibbetts, CBC’s vice president of operations.
