Meredith Willson’s The Music Man

Meredith Willson’s six-time, Tony Award-winning musical comedy The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. Snowbird Hootenanny: Mardi Gras Mambo
11 a.m. Feb. 5. Flora-Bama Lounge & Package, 17401 Perdido Key Drive. The Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce invites all snowbirds to join them at the Flora-Bama Lounge for an afternoon of fun, great music, and fantastic prizes. Dinner and an Aria

‘Perfect Arrangement’

Krewe of Avant Garde Formal Masquerade Mardi Gras Ball
6 p.m. Feb. 6. Pensacola Yacht Club, 1897 Cypress St. The Krewe of Avant Garde invites the community to their annual Masked Mardi Gras Ball to show support for the military. Participants may enjoy dancing with live music by the Platinum Premier Band, dinner, a mask contest, and court program. A cash bar will be provided. SATURDAY
Pensacola Double Bridge Run
7 a.m., 15K; 8:30 a.m., 5K; Feb. 7. The starting line for the 5K race is at 10 Daniel St. in Gulf Breeze, adjacent to the Gulf Breeze High School Football Field. The starting line for the 15K race is at the Maritime Park, 301 W. Main St. Both races will take runners over the Bob Sikes Bridge to the finish line at the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk parking lot. One of the premier 15K races in the country, the course carries runners over two bridges, across Pensacola Bay and Santa Rosa Sound. Flora-Bama Super Chili Bowl Cook-Off
