Dua Lipa brought some deconstructed sensibility and playful fringe in Schiaparelli to the Harper’s Bazaar Icons Party in New York City on Monday.
The “Dance the Night” singer joined a string of high-profile guests and honorees for the special occasion, styling a look from the Italian luxury fashion house’s fall 2025 ready-to-wear collection, which debuted as part of Paris Fashion Week in March.

Lipa’s black fringe dress incorporated a deconstructed approach, featuring the peekaboo bra layering trend, revitalized in 2024, along with loose black fringe on the bodice and skirt of the frock. A contemporary iteration of the fringe craze from the roaring 1920s, the dress’ fringe element cascaded to the ground, swinging whenever the wearer walks.
The artist is no stranger to wearing designs by Schiaparelli, particularly looks from the fall 2025 ready-to-wear collection. For the 50th Chaplin Gala at New York City’s Lincoln Center in April, Lipa wore a knitted, semi-sheer dress with Schiaparelli’s idiosyncratic eye statement jewelry.

Schiaparelli creative director Daniel Roseberry curated a collection with a series of references to the ongoing cowboy core trend — popularized in streetwear style and on the runway with a cultural impact from Beyoncé Knowles-Carter’s “Cowboy Carter” album.
Roseberry “put a raw spin on the trend this season with hand-tooled leather handbags, chunky shearling jackets and big buckle belts worn three at a time,” Joelle Diderich wrote in WWD’s review of the collection.

“Here, the hourglass silhouettes took the form of oversize suit jackets with maxi shoulders, while corset lacing was used as a decorative accent on items like a white tank top and scrunched leather pants with a trompe-l’oeil double waist,” Diderich wrote.”Other Surrealist details included a large belt buckle on the neck of a black vest top, and a knuckleduster ring shaped like gold fingers. But the stars of the show were those wildebeest furs, like the cropped shearling jackets with sleeves the size of a side of beef.”
