“I’m just riding this wave, whatever the universe is dealing right now and really loving it.”

Dustin Lynch is taking his music in an exciting new direction with the release of his new single “Home To You” featuring twin-brother folktronica DJ duo MC4D.

The track is a feel-good anthem that seamlessly intertwines Lynch’s country music storytelling with his newfound passion for electronic dance music, appealing to fans of both worlds. Lynch revealed that as the Nashville community continues to learn about his mission to bring original material into his DJ sets, genre-blurring pitches have started to be sent his way. “Home To You” was one of the tracks that ended up in his hands.

Lynch told Country Now that the energy he felt after listening to the demo for the first time was electric. He realized just how special it was when it gave him goosebumps, which is something only a couple other songs have done throughout his career.

“It was like the first time I heard, I think, what my future is and where I belong in the electronic world in a song. And I was just thrilled because they had captured…the lyric initially, had captured just a lot of what we believe in as country music. It was real.” he explained. “It was something you could really attach to, and I’m definitely attached to it. I think it’s something I’m looking for lyrically in life, and I just had a gut feeling about it.”

Penned by Lynch, Matt & Chris Drake (of MC4D), Brandon Davis, and Trent Tomlinson, the heartfelt, feel-good country anthem hones in on the simple joys of returning home to the one you love. It captures the anticipation and excitement of a long-awaited reunion but with a high-energy club mix twist that makes it the perfect, dance-worthy track.

“Whenever I get there/ I punch in the hours/ Counting down the minutes/ Until I pull this truck back home/ Hightail and smiling/ Cause nothing compares to how it feels/ Coming home to you,” Lynch sings.

While the song might be slightly different than what country music fans are used to hearing from the Tennessee native, he feels strongly that it’s genre-bending blend will act as a bridge between both musical avenues.

The song arrived at the perfect time for Lynch, who has spent the year experimenting with live DJ sets while serving as the first country artist to host a residency at Wynn Nightlife. He delivered a live performance Daytime Pool Situation at Wynn’s Encore Beach Club and brought a Club Set to XS Nightclub.

“We were right at being in Las Vegas performing a couple times a month. So I was in front of crowds and really feeling what was reacting and what I felt comfortable with on stage performing. And I just knew it would be a perfect fit for this new genre we’re a part of and this new type of show we’re a part of just so stoked that this is our next release and I can’t wait for the world to hear it,” he said.

Fans got to hear “Home To You” for the first time on the fourth of July when Dustin Lynch was performing at the Encore Beach Club.

“No matter who you are, you can relate to that song, whether it’s missing your significant other or missing somebody that is looking down on you or missing your dog at home and coming back to them, coming back to what makes you whole in life. And that’s kind of how I introduced the song on July 4th and it really connected. The fans immediately started singing along and reacting to it,” he recalled. “We had great video of that. It’s like the first crowd that ever heard this song besides me and my team, and it’s something I’ll never forget.”

This may be a new sound for Dustin Lynch, but it isn’t the first time he’s collaborated with MC4D and other DJs. Earlier this year, he joined forces with these artists for Club Set Remixes, an EP featuring EDM reworks of a few of his fan-favorite tracks including “Small Town Boy,” “Seein’ Red,” “Thinking ’Bout You,” “Stars Like Confetti,” and his latest country radio single, “Easy To Love.”

The expansion of Lynch’s sound has come very “organically.” He stressed that this wasn’t a calculated career move, but once he leaned into the idea, it opened doors he hadn’t anticipated. Now, he’s grateful for the new opportunities that have come his way.

He cut his teeth DJing at an afterparty for the PBR World Finals, where he was tasked with putting together a 30-minute set blending country hits with electronic, dance, and hip-hop tracks. What started as a nerve-wracking challenge quickly turned inspiring as he noticed the crowd respond with enthusiasm.

Since then, Lynch has collaborated with other artists in the electronic world like MOONLGHT, MC4D, Dirty Audio, MAKJ, and Bryce Vine, showing that his music can resonate in unexpected ways. The opportunities haven’t slowed down since, making it clear to Lynch that he’s received a warm welcome into this new world of music.

“It went really well,” he recalled. “The phone started ringing the next day and we got booked to play Live in Miami. We got booked to play at Toronto…we opened for Diplo and they called again and said, ‘Hey, we’re loving what you’re doing. We want you to offer you a residency in 2025.’ And then it was like, oh wow, I want to start trying to make this be a thing and really start diving in and trying to write some of this music. So I did and I, for whatever reason, thought that the dance world will be like, ‘Hey, get out of our sandbox.’ But they’ve been nothing but open arms and welcoming me and the collaborations just keep coming in.”

Dustin Lynch has had years of success as a country artist, but with this new venture, he’s experiencing a different kind of joy. Plus, it has inspired him to look at his country shows through a new lens.

“I’m 13 years into being on country radio. I’m having the most fun I’ve ever had, not only writing music and producing music, but there’s this cool offset that the show allows me to kind of rest the country show a little bit and give me a creative break…I’m approaching the country shows with the new energy because of the DJ sets and these club sets. So it’s just been a really fun year. I’m just riding this wave, whatever the universe is dealing right now and really loving it.”

Reflecting on the bigger picture, Lynch shared his excitement about how this new direction is not just expanding his own sound, but also pushing country music into new spaces. Looking at the impact of his recent projects, he sees an opportunity to take country music to new audiences around the world in a fresh way

“It’s just the perfect timing of everything. We’re seeing country music really now globally with the success of Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen on the global charts and Shaboozey doing his thing all over the place. These songs are getting in places that country music has never been American, country music has never been. It’s just the perfect timing for all this to be happening and it’s just really exciting and we’ve got more behind home to you, so I can’t wait to get that out there.”

Dustin Lynch and Scotty McCreery’s co-headlining TWO FOR THE ROAD TOUR kicks off November 6 in Saginaw, MI, and features 12 hit-heavy stops across the U.S. The anticipated run wraps December 6 in Duluth, MN.

He teased that this will be a very “collaborative” run as they collectively take on meet and greets before the show as well as performing a handful of songs together on stage.
