DWTS ‘dodged a bullet’ with celeb who dropped out – TV – Entertainment

Dancing With the Stars might sometimes anger fans by getting things “so wrong,” but now they’re seeing fans who are praising the fact that the show let a potential celebrity drop out from Season 34.

Casting on the ABC show is known to be fluid. It can change up until the last minute, with celebrities dropping out or being added in less than 24 hours before the cast is announced.

That appeared to be the case for Season 34 as well, after Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui shared during the official cast reveal on Good Morning America that she had only signed on a few days prior.

Fans have since wondered who the celebrity who likely dropped out was.

Now, thanks to a fan who noticed a discrepancy on Disney+, the celebrity’s identity has been revealed.

Taking to Reddit, the fan shared a screenshot of a details page they found on the show on their account, which shared the identities of the Season 34 cast.

While the 14 celebrities who were announced are all listed in the description, a fifteenth name is also included–Jordon Hudson.

Hudson is the 24-year-old girlfriend of University of North Carolina Tar Heels (and former New England Patriots) coach Bill Belichick, 73.

After the fan took to Reddit asking who Hudson was, others quickly informed them of her identity, and many breathed a sigh of relief in the comments that she wasn’t in the cast.

Hudson was rumored to have been approached about being on the show back in May, but it was said at the time that she likely wouldn’t ‘take part’ in the show because it directly overlapped with Belichick’s first season as the Tar Heels coach.

“She has been asked to be a part of the next season of Dancing with the Stars,” a source told The Daily Mail at the time. “She likely will decline as it will be in the fall, the same time Bill will be coaching and she wants to be there for him at UNC.”

“Whatever Jordon would like to get into, in front or behind the cameras, she wants to do some shows in the hosting realm. She’s likely to do a show like 1st Look if she had the chance,” they added.

Dancing With the Stars Season 34 premieres Tuesday, Sept. 16 on ABC and Disney+.
